On Monday 17th November, 2025, Tamale Senior High School (TAMASCO) has received a major infrastructural boost with the commissioning of a newly completed 12-unit storey classroom block, fully funded and donated by the former Minister of State at the Ministry of Finance and Member of Parliament for Karaga, Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam.
The commissioning ceremony, held on the school’s premises, brought together school authorities, staff, students, and community members to celebrate the milestone. The new building is expected to significantly enhance teaching and learning by easing classroom congestion and providing a more conducive academic environment.
In his address, Dr. Amin Adam himself an old student of Tamale Senior High School, expressed deep emotion and gratitude as he stood once again in the school where his educational journey began. He noted that during his days as a student, he never imagined he would one day contribute such a monumental project to the school, let alone become a Member of Parliament or a Minister of State.
He emphasized the importance of discipline and hard work, urging students to stay away from indiscipline, drug abuse, and all forms of behavior that might derail their academic progress. According to him, success is built on focus, character, and determination, and students of TAMASCO must uphold these values to excel.
Dr. Amin Adam also advised students and teachers to use the new facility efficiently to enhance teaching and learning. He acknowledged the tremendous support of the headmaster and the school management, who closely monitored the construction process to ensure high-quality delivery.
He further extended his appreciation to the contractor for completing the project ahead of schedule. “In many places, a building like this can take more than a year, but in less than a year, we are standing in front of a fully completed, solid storey building ready for use,” he said.
The new classroom block stands as a testament to Dr. Amin Adam’s commitment to improving educational infrastructure and giving back to the school that helped shape his future.
The Headmaster Mr. Mohammed Yakubu Mustapha, on behalf of the school, expressed profound gratitude to Dr. Amin Adam for the transformative project, assuring him that the facility will be put to effective and sustainable use.
The school community looks forward to the positive impact the new structure will bring, marking yet another step in the continuous growth and excellence of Tamale Senior High School.
